Cantilan is on Northeastern of Mindanao in the province of Surigao Del Sur. It occupies an area of 455,216 hectares. Approximately it has 4,552.16 square kilometers with a length of 175 kilometers. Facing the Pacific Ocean, it lies within 125 degrees to 45' to 130 degrees 30' E. Longitude and 10 degrees 30' to 8 degrees 00' latitude. It is bounded on the northwest by the province of Surigao del Norte, on the southwest by Davao Oriental, on the east by the Pacific Ocean and on the west and southwest by the province of Agusan del Norte and Agusan del Sur. At the northwestern part of Surigao del Sur, Cantilan Earlier sprawled on about twenty-five kilometers in width and fifty kilometers in length embracing plains, hills and mountains. A macadamized highway now traverses this acreage.
